The STREETS International Board of Directors hosted one of New York City's first-ever "hands-on" Vietnamese cooking and dinner parties -- a type of event recently noted in the NY Times when Mayor Bloomberg had a similar gala evening at the Institute of Culinary Education for his management team.

Planned as an intimate gathering to share in authentic Vietnamese recipes and stories about the kids at STREETS in Vietnam; no tickets, no silent auction, no raffles. Invited guests, all notable supporters of STREETS, came together to share in a fun evening, dining, and learning about STREETS.

The night combined the best of a cocktail party, a cooking class, and candle-lit, multi-course dining. The menu captured the fresh flavors, varied textures and vibrant colors of Vietnamese food.

Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres kicked off the evening, followed by a demonstration and hands-on cooking under the expert guidance of ICE Chef - Instructors. Finally, with the tables all candle-lit, guests were treated to a delicious dinner, paired with wines and beers from around the world.

The evening included comments from founder Neal Bermas and co-founder Sondra Stewart about the remarkable success of the Trainees in Vietnam and the ambitious plans for the future.
